When we participate in our compulsive disorders, such as drinking, smoking, gambling, shopping, and comfort food eating, it releases endorphins in the pleasure centers of the brain, which sets us up for addiction and therefore we repeat the behavior to feel good. If you feel that you are no longer in control and your life has become unmanageable because you are consumed by your compulsive behaviors whatever they may be there is always help.
